Life Changing Group

We are doing this project in Casa Main that is a house for girls who have suffered from several problems.

This life changing project means a lot because we are sharing with kids, and sometimes get we get really involve with this kind of projects because we are treating really nice girls that suffered a lot from abuse or neglect from their parents. We try to do our best to help them, and to find the better ways in which they can live better.
To help them we are searching for sponsors for this house, we are going to make raffles, look for donations. Every little thing that we can do for their welfare would be very important, and that will make a difference.

This project really touches our hearts those girls have a lot of nice feelings and emotions, and for us is not the same to help the environment than to help human beings there is a enormous difference.

In my opinion all the students should get involved in this kind of projects, because students can make the difference, and there are many ways to help, some of then can help the environment(cleaning rivers, recycling, recollecting garbage in different communities, doing community work), other can help animals. Besides, depending in the major that they are, they can teach people that do not have the opportunity to study. In our case we also can help teaching them different things in English, we are thinking to make a nice class in which they can learn and have fun with us, and at the end we are going to make a party with them. This has been an excellent project in which I have learned and enjoyed a lot.

Oil Exploitation

Nowadays oil exploitation is one of the biggest business, it provides millions of millions of dollars but the problem is that just few people enjoy that money, they become richer and richer, and what is worst is that those companies are damaging the environment and the planet.

Problems that bring that oil exploitations are oil spills in forests; As the spill occurs, it spreads onto farmlands and water bodies, also in the ocean during loading and transport. Other problems are deforestation, pollution, it involves the release of dangerous toxics into the atmosphere, and exposure to oil pollution can cause development of health problems. Governments should regulate more tough the oil exploitation because those companies are damaging the environment in a terrible way.

The 5 R's

Environmental awareness is one of the issues that as teachers we must begin to do. We must teach our students the different and better ways to help the planet, and that the smallest change that we do to protect our environment that really make the difference.

One way, in which we can teach environmental awareness to our students is with the 5 R’s recycle, reuse, renew, respect, and reduce.
Those five R’s are excellent in order to create awareness and to help the planet.
Recycle: Teach students all the different material that they can recycle, such as bottles, glass newspapers, ink jet and laser printer Also, You can recycle cell phones, car batteries, tires, paper, cans, boxes and motor oil.

Reuse: Students and people in general should learn to reuse all materials manufactured with trees for their conservation. Besides, people can take their own bags to the market; also we could use the leftovers to make ornaments or jewelry and even earn some money.

Renew: All natural resources, when those are gone there’s no more to do.
Reduce: here we can do a lot of things to help the Earth and the environment. For example, reduce the emissions of carbon of your car into the atmosphere by walking any time you can. One of the big problems is deforestation and that must be reducing but NOW! In addition, we can replace old light bulbs for the new ones that save some amount of energy.

Respect: The mankind just has one place to live and is our planet Earth so we have to do our best to protect and respect it.
In order to help the Earth we must begin following those ways to help it and begin to teach them to the students, families, communities, and people in general.

Globalization

Nowadays, we can see how companies are being increasing their productions, they open new buildings around the entire world and that is something good because it helps a lot of people that do not have a job, it also helps in the development of the country or city in which the company is located. The problem here is that globalization brings negative effects, that development brings pollution; the rivers and the air are suffering and getting more and more pollute. Besides, overpopulation helps to increase that contamination.

Domestic violence

This problem is very common in Costa Rican society, every day we watched in the news about women that are living and suffering due to this problem, and not only women also kids are suffering of this violence. What is even worst is that kids are learning that behavior. Children living in violent homes are more likely to act out and behave violently.
Domestic violence happens when one partner tries to maintain control or dominate the other through the use of physical force.
Abuse can take other forms than physical such as sexual, emotional, and verbal. Males are often victims of violence as well.

Space

The universe is infinite… That is why I totally believe that there is life in other planets.
We cannot be the only ones in an infinite universe. With space journeys scientists have been discovered many more planets that may be useful in a future in which we the mankind have to look for a new planet to live in.
Those journeys have brought a lot of benefits such as the weather broadcast, wireless internet, cable TV, satellite signal for cell phones, discoveries of new planets in which there could be water and a good environment for life.
Those journals also have brought consequences to the Earth in this case is about pollution, they are polluting the Earth with every space travel they made. For that reason, we have to be aware about what the NASA is doing to help the Earth.

Great speaker

Not everybody has the courage to speak in public, most people are shy they feel stressed and tensed when they speak in public.

To speak in public you may be a good communicator. In my opinion the characteristics that a great speaker and orator should have are charisma, good persuasion, preparation, nice arguments, believe in what you are talking, and the power to move people and hold the attention of the people. Besides, the use of body language is very important to hold that attention, they also say what the public need to hear, the eye contact is very important because if the speaker do it you feel that he/she is telling the true, with that the speaker gives you confidence.

Finally, they have to talk straight to the point, as the Americans says

‘Tell’ em what you’re going to tell them, tell them, and then tell’ em what you told them.”
